The state-of-the-art seems to be Moodle or Canvas which are designed for universities — they use archaic UI and features.

We are considering using Zoho People for HR management, attendance, leave, overtime, and employee records for a company in Egypt. The main issue is that Zoho Payroll is not available in Egypt. We mainly need a reliable monthly payroll output: salary, attendance deductions, unpaid leave, overtime, penalties, bonuses, and net payable.

I play guitar at folk clubs and camps. The problem is 'knowing what you know'. Back in the 2000s I came up with a list view with 2 lines per entry in Access 97: title and key on the first line, lyric snippet on the second. Modern database front-ends only give one line.

I curate a large resource list for language learners (channels, podcasts, films per language) on Notion. As it grew, loading got slow and navigation clumsy. I want a web app for maintaining and sharing a very long structured markdown list.
